Cloud DevOps Engineer – Full-Time – Bucharest

DB Global Technology is Deutsche Bank’s technology center in Central and Eastern Europe. Opened in January 2014, the Bucharest office is constantly expanding. The team is made up of enthusiastic professionals that work in an international environment adapting to a different context and learning new technologies and parts of Deutsche Banks’ businesses.

Summary of work assignment

This role is part of the Cloud API Platform Team that develops and runs Google Api Management platform and drive adoption across the organization. You will be part of the platform team and work in collaboration with other internal and google engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively across the organisation, open to learning attitude, show curiosity;
• Partner with other Cloud Platforms engineering teams to develop DB Api Management based on Google technology stack but not limited;
• Explore new technologies, participate in proof of concepts, provide technology assessment and recommendations to technologies board members;
• Solve challenging problems in an elegant but pragmatic way, develop best practices and advertise around organisation;
• Write high quality, reusable code and adhere to coding standards;
• Write professional, clear and comprehensive documentation(as code);
• Keep implementation aligned with the agreed roadmap;
• Engage with stakeholders to provide timely end-to-end delivery of technology solutions;
• Ensure availability, reliability and performance of the Api platform.

Requirements

• Advanced experience developing Infrastructure as Code for platform capabilities and services using Terraform;
• Experience with containers and container orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes or Helm/ Ansible;
• Experience in building Api’s/applications using one of the big cloud providers (Aws, Azure) but preferably Google Cloud (Apigee) is considered an asset;
• GitHub or similar, contributing to open-source projects is considered a key asset;
• DevOps practices and the value of automation;
• Software development background, capability to write code in one of mainstream programming languages: Python, Go, JavaScript or Java is considered an asset;
• Any cloud certification would be a plus, otherwise we provide a track for achieving this with Google;
• Any previous experience with build or run Microservices / API based applications in production is welcomed but not required;
• Strong communication skills, good team spirit;
• Flexible and adaptable attitude disciplined to manage multiple responsibilities and adjust to varied environments;
• 3+ years of professional and relevant experience in the area of software development;
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
